Lola Jean Berry, 86, Jack County, TX, formerly of Independence MO, passed away April 18, 2014. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Thursday, April 24 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Graveside services will be at 1 pm, Friday, April 25 at Dadeville Masonic Cemetery, Dadeville, MO.
Lola was born Nov. 28, 1927 in Everton, MO. On April 3, 1943, she was married to Howard Dean Berry in Springfield, MO. Lola was a one-woman office for the Lockwood Plumbing Company in Joliet, IL, a clutch manufacturing company and obtained her license as an independent real estate agent while living in Independence, MO. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Disabled Veterans, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and volunteered time teaching with the Adult Literacy Council.
Lola is survived by her husband of seventy-one years, Howard Dean Berry, of the home; sons Michael Dean Berry and Lisa Brooks, Holt, MO; Kevin Ray Berry and wife Paula, Jack County, TX; granddaughters Michelle Geringer and husband Todd, Lee’s Summit, MO; Brittni Davis and husband Michael, Wichita Falls, TX; five great-grandchildren: Mindy Diane Drees and husband Joe, Samantha Geringer, Rachel Geringer, Robert Davis and Nora Davis; and great-great-granddaughter Alexis Kreisler.
