Myra Berry

Myra Mae Berry, 93, Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at her home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO. Graveside services will be 1:30 PM Saturday at Alta Vista Cemetery, east of Weatherby, MO. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, August 28, 2009 at the funeral home.

Myra was born October 23, 1915 in Weatherby, MO the daughter of Virdie Guy and Maggie (Baxter) Searcy. She was a graduate of Weatherby High School and a Charter Member of the DeKalb County Historical Society. Myra was a member of the 39th Street Church of Christ and volunteered with the clothes closet at the church. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, fishing and especially loved being with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Gene Berry in 1991; brothers, Steve Searcy, Henry Allen (Duly) Searcy, Nelson (Bat) Searcy, and Guy (Buck) Searcy, Jr.

Myra is survived by her daughter, Myra Wolfe of Independence; grandchildren, Rick Wolfe and his wife Lenore of Neosho and Vicki LoTam and her husband Joe of Independence, MO; great grandchildren, Nicole LoTam, Natalie McInturff and her husband Laban, Olivia Casady and her huaband Cody, Neeley LoTam and Tyler Wolfe; great great grandchildren, Luke Allen Casady, Laynee Drew Casady, Reagan Mae McInturff, Connor Joseph Reed, Liam Elton McInturff and Ella Sue McInturff; and sister Margaret Sweat.
