Rosemary Bessmer

Rosemary Bessmer, 89, of Buckner, MO, passed away, Sunday, October 26, 2008 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Blue Springs, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 31, 2008 at the Church of the Santa Fe in Buckner. Burial will be in Buckner Hill Cemetery. There will be a rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, October 30, 2008 followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m., at the Speaks Buckner Chapel. Donation may be made to the Catholic Charities. Rosemary was born November 9, 1918 in New Franklin, MO to Phillip Andrew and Rosalie Mary (Griesenauer) Bryan. She was a devoted wife mother and homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting and genealogy. She was one of the founding members of the Church of Santa Fe in Bucker where she was active in volunteer and church work. Rosemary was married to Howard George Bessmer on October 17, 1948; he preceded her in death on March 20, 1995. Survivors include; a son, Thomas R. Bessmer of Buckner, MO; 2 daughters, Mary Ann Bessmer of Arlington, MA and Jean Bessmer of Kansas City, KS; 3 sisters, Margaret Bowman and husband Bill of Boonville, MO, Helen Settle and husband J.B of Lebanon, MO, and Phyllis McNiece of Ft. Worth, TX; a sister-in-law, Florence Bessmer of Buckner, MO 2 grandchildren, James R. Bessmer-Garten and Dianna Rosalynne Bessmer-Garten And several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, James Howard Bessmer in 1974.
