After a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease, Beverly A Cox, 90, of Independence, Mo., passed away June 12 at Lawson Manor, Lawson, Mo.
She was born February 14, 1935, to William and Mabelle Jacob in Independence.
She attended William Chrisman High School, class of 1953.
On April 10, 1954, she married the love of her life Jerry Cox. They had one son, Greg Cox.
For many years she worked at Farm and Home Savings in Independence and retired from Sterling National Bank in Sugar Creek.
She loved spending time with her many friends, crafts, and gardening.
Bev is survived by her son, Greg Cox and daughter-in-law Karen Cox of Tucson, Ariz.; grandson Gordon O'Steen and fiancée Sabrina of Newton, N.H.; granddaughter Emily McDowell of Tucson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, and husband of 51 years.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 21 at 10 a.m. at Carson-Speaks Funeral Home, Independence. Service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Martha Schmidt officiating.
