George Dee Bilyeu, 76, of Independence, MO passed away Friday, September 4, 2009 at Wilshire at Lakewood surrounded by family and friends. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1-2:00 p.m. Entombment in Mt. Washington Mausoleum. George was born September 25, 1932 in Mountain Grove, MO to Ross and Merle (Gillison) Bilyeu. He retired from LabConco as a sheet metal worker. George was a loyal friend to all and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He enjoyed reading, studying history, and keeping up on current events. Mr. Bilyeu was known for his green thumb and loved the outdoors, gardening flowers and vegetables, giving his produce out to family and friends. George is survived by his daughter Cheryl Sherwood and husband Darren; granddaughter Eshelle Smead and husband Thomas; daughters Vickie Wright, Glenda Eastwood; son David Bilyeu; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Ethel Ann in ’07; and one sister.
