Robert “Bob” Evans Binnicker, 72, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away at his home surrounded by family on Sept. 6, 2011 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Services will be 10 am, Sat., Sept. 10 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 9 am. Committal services will be at 2 pm, Sat. at St. Joseph Memorial Park, east of I-29 at 5005 Frederick Ave., St. Joseph, MO. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society Greater Kansas City Chapter, 1100 Pennsylvania Ave., K.C., MO 64105-1375.
Bob was born Aug. 14, 1939 in St. Joseph, MO to Harry and Hope Binnicker (both deceased) of St. Joseph, MO. He was retired from Consolidated Freightway. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and then discovered the game of golf, which he also enjoyed. He also loved spending time with his family boating at Stockton Lake. Bob will always be remembered by all of his family and friends as a loving, devoted man. He will be greatly missed!
Bob was preceded in death by his brother Donald W. Binnicker. He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years Virginia “GiGi” Binnicker; daughters Robbie Golubski and husband Mike; Cathy Halterman and husband Jeff; Stephanie West and husband Rick; Kelly Hunter; grandchildren Amanda Binnicker, Justin Golubski, Lauren Lammers, Angela Rohr, Cody Halterman, Ashley West, Cole West; great-granddaughter Lila Kay Rohr; brother Roger Binnicker, Branson, MO; sisters Phyllis Swafford, Independence, MO; Yolonda Caffey, Houston, TX and many loving nieces and nephews.
