Imogene (Imy) Louise Blair, nee Haerer was born January 12, 1920, in Kansas City, Kansas and died July 23, 2015, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Imogene grew up in the Independence, Missouri area. She attended Mount Washington Elementary School, Northeast Junior High School, and Northeast Senior High School, graduating in June, 1937. She enjoyed playing violin in the school orchestra. Throughout those years, she attended Maywood Baptist Church. Imogene and Dallas Edgar Blair married January 12, 1940, a marriage that spanned 57 years. In 1945, they became members of Bethany Baptist in Kansas City, a church affiliation Imy enjoyed for more than 70 years. Her many activities there included church librarian and youth Sunday school teacher, but a special favorite was helping with the annual Halloween Party for neighborhood children. At home, Imy followed her own mother's tradition as a seamstress, creating garments for her children and later for her grandchildren. She enjoyed music, flowers, and especially visiting with family and friends. Imy lived in the Northeast area of Kansas City, Missouri for 66 years (1940-2006) In June, 2006, she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where she attended Green Valley Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, her father Ralph M. Haerer, Sr and mother Florence Nightingale Haerer nee Feiser, and her brother Ralph M. Haerer, Jr. Imogene is survived by two children Beverly Sue Orr (Pat) of Las Vegas, NV and Larry Michael Blair (Linda) of Knoxville, TN; four grandchildren Michael Blair (Laura) of Overland Park, KS, Janet Donovan (Kevin) of Holly Springs, NC; Paula Bright (Andy) of Henderson, NV, and Jon Blair (Linda) in San Diego, CA; seven great- grandchildren Colby and Brie Gorter of Las Vegas, NV, Brynn and Tessa Blair of Overland Park, KS, and Eric, Kelly, and Jena Donovan of Holly Springs, NC; and five nieces, Karen, Susan, Barbara, Donna, and Lana. In lieu of flowers, donations have been requested to Bethany Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri or to Nathan Adelson Hospice (non- profit) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Services with be held at Carson-Speaks Chapel in Independence, Missouri at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 31, 2015 and burial will follow at Mount Washington Forever Cemetery in Independence, Missouri.
