Kenneth Blank

Kenneth E. Blank, 92, of Independence, MO, passed away, Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Select Specialty Hospital of Kansas City in Overland Park, KS. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 10, 2009 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial with full military honors will be in Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. Kenneth was born November 5, 1916 in Prairie Home, MO to Louis and Ola (Duel) Blank. He had worked as a security officer for the Bendix Corporation for over 30 years until he retired in 1979. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII in the 4th Infantry during the D-Day invasion. He was a life member of the VFW Post #1000 in Independence, MO. He is survived by; his wife of 68 years, Doris (Winfrey) of the home; 2 sons, Ronald Blank of Edgewater, FL and Terry Blank and wife Margaret of Overland Park, KS; a sister, Pati Heckenbach of Excelsior Springs, MO; a brother, Cecil Blank of San Francisco, CA; 2 grandchildren, Jennifer Bradshaw and Brandon Blank and numerous nieces and nephews.
