Huey Blankenship

Huey Pierce Blankenship, 73, of Independence, MO, passed away, Monday, February 2, 2009 at Independence Manor Care Center. Cremation is planned with private inurnment in New Salem Cemetery. Huey was born September 12, 1935 in Newburg, AR to Ransom Gulley and Sylbia Ann (Collier) Blankenship. He worked as loader and order filler for Ultch Lumber Company and later Tamm Lumber Company retiring in 2002. Survivors include; 8 sisters, Frances Pearson, Mary Mercer, Juanita Overstreet and Versie Cooper all of Independence, MO, Linda Taylor and Sharon Mountjoy of Buckner, MO, Sadie Musick of Mena AR and Robbie Sims of Mt. Pleasant, AR; 2 brothers, Donald Blankenship of Independence, MO and Gulley Blankenship of Buckner, MO. He was preceded in death by a son, Clayton Collier Blankenship in 1990 and a sister, Viva Musick in 2006.
