Debra Blesz

Debra Marie Blesz, 50, of Independence, MO peacefully passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Memorial Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2008 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Cremation. Debra was born April 20, 1957 in New Ulm, MN to Robert and Georgine (Meyer) Portner. She was loved by all and known as the “Kool Aid” mom by the many kids on her block. Debra was a wonderful mom to her son and the other kids she cared for. Ms. Blesz is survived by her son, Myles Blesz and his wife Lacey; grandson Sabastion; mother Georgine Portner; partner Barbara Marrow; brothers Tom Portner and wife Diane, Jim Portner and partner Jeanne Sumner; sister Janey Martin; brother John Portner; God Mother Marie Springer; step children families Thomas, Herd, White, Chester, Marrow, Hunnacutt and Owens; and by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. Debra was preceded in death by her father Robert; partner Ruby.
