Olive L. Bloom, 93, of Dodge Center, MN, formerly of Independence, MO passed away July 20, 2011 at Fairview Care Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 25, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Independence, MO. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Graveside services will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Olive was born August 4, 1917 in Muncie, KS. She married Gail H. Bloom on September 3, 1938. She was a homemaker, loved flowers and ceramics. She worked for the Camp Fire Girls Association for over 18 years. Olive lived in Independence, MO, until 2000, when she moved to Rochester, MN to be close to her daughter. She is survived by her children, Loretta (Ed) Warner, Quartzite, AZ, Carolyn (Harold) Long, Mantorville, MN, Robert (Dianne) Bloom, Birmingham, AL, and William (Kathleen) Bloom, Tehachapi, CA; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and her sister, Marcella Viene. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to a charity of your choice.
