Ruby Fontella Boatwright (Holmes)

Ruby Boatwright, 89, of Independence, MO passed away July 7, 2015. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 a.m. followed by a 10:00 a.m. service on Friday, July 10, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO. Burial will be held at Mound Grove Cemetery. Ruby was born September 11, 1925 in Breckenridge, MO to Charles and Mae (Johnson) Holmes. She retired from Independence Regional Health Center after 26 years, with the last 15 working as the supervisor of housekeeping. She enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family. She was also very faithful to her church, South Crysler Restoration Branch. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Arthur Moore; two grandsons, Richie Moore and Keith Bitzer; and son-in-law, Edward Bitzer. She is survived by her two daughters, Phillis Bitzer and Linda Winton; two sons, Ralph Moore (Darla) and Bob Boatwright; daughter-in-law, Judy Moore; 11 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and 14 great-great grandchildren.
