Francis V. Boles, 92, Independence, MO passed away July 11, 2009. Services will be 10 am, Wed., July 15, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 �" 8 pm, Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the charity of your choice.
Francis was born July 10, 1917 in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from Northeast High School and then earned a B.S. degree in Engineering for the Finley Engineering School. He was an electrical supervisor at the Lake City Ammunition Plant for twenty-seven years before retiring on Dec. 31, 1979. Francis was also a past member of the Board of Directors for the City Union Mission and a member of the Gideons. He enjoyed gardening and grew vegetables for his neighbors from his “Victory Garden.”
Francis was preceded in death by wife Opal Boles and sisters Margaret James, Vivian Arthur and Elizabeth Brown. He is survived by wife Ruth Boles, of the home; sons Ray Boles, Independence, MO; Ed Boles and wife Barbara, Covington, LA; grandchildren Daniel Boles, Michael Boles, Steven Boles, Edward Boles, Jr. and Phillip Boles and six great-grandchildren.
