Robert Louis Boman, Sr., 76, of Independence, MO passed away July 5, 2008 at the University of Kansas Hospital. The rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m., with the visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington, Independence, MO. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, at St. Joseph the Worker, 2200 N. Blue Mills Rd., Independence, MO. Entombment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Raytown, MO. Robert was born September 7, 1931 in Pierce City, MO to Joseph and Helena Boman, one out of nine children. He graduated from Pierce City High School in 1949 and married Elizabeth Joan Nolan on July 16, 1955. They were happily married for 53 years. He retired from the grocery business after 45 years and was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Bob was a very humble and gentle man with a keen wit and ability to make everyone laugh. His desire for his loved ones happiness will always be remembered. He was a sports enthusiast (Chiefs, Royals and MU) and was an avid reader. He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Boman; two sons, Robert L. Boman, Jr. and Sean Eric Boman and wife Linda; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann-Boman Miquelon and husband Brad; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Jacob, Alexandria, Ella, Sean, Shawn, Lucas and Leila; one great grandchild, Kiara; one brother, Danny Boman; and two sisters, Mattie and Anna.
