Bonnie Lynn
Thatcher
June 29, 1953 – May 5, 2026
Bonnie Lynn Thatcher peacefully passed away on May 5, 2026, in Independence, Missouri. Born on June 29, 1953, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Glenn and Luella Wills, Bonnie graced this world with her presence for 72 remarkable years.
Bonnie was proceeded in death by her husband Lonnie Thatcher.
Bonnie is survived by her sister, Dixie, her two daughters, Jeanne and Shirley, her stepdaughter Sara and son in law, Jesus.
A devoted homemaker, Bonnie poured her heart and soul into her family, weaving a tapestry of warmth and comfort that surrounded them. She was not only known for her dedication as a caregiver but also for her radiant sense of humor that brought lightness and laughter to countless moments. Bonnie treasured the simple pleasures that enriched her days. She enjoyed watching movies, often sharing this joy with her stepdaughter, Sara and son in law, Jesus. Travel held a special place in her heart, especially the annual family trips to Florida, where the ocean’s calming embrace was a constant source of happiness for her.
Perhaps most dear to Bonnie was her role as a grandmother. Affectionately known as the “OG grandma,” she adored watching her grandchildren grow and thrive. The time she spent with her granddaughter Lily was particularly precious, a bond filled with love, warmth, and endless stories. Her grandchildren and family were the center of her world, and her legacy of care and affection will forever live on in their hearts.
