Edna N. Bowles, 88, Independence, MO, formerly of Kansas City, passed away June 14, 2009. Cremation. The family requests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
Edna was born April 16, 1921 in Brumley, MO and graduated from Brumley High School. She moved to Kansas City at the age of 18 and lived there most of her life. She began working at the Golden Ox Restaurant in 1943 and worked there for fifty years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the White Shrine. She was an excellent gardener and also enjoyed sewing.
Edna is survived by daughter Catherine Cochran, Maui, HI; brothers Dr. W.V. Robinett; Edger H. Robinett, Tipton, MO; sisters Marjorie Cannon, Bonner Springs, KS; Ellen Higher, Walla Walla, WA; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
