Arlest L. Bowling, 79, of Buckner, MO passed away, Friday, September 24, 2010 at his residence. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 27, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Buckner. Burial will be in Buckner Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Monday at the church.
Arlest was born September 14, 1931 in Napoleon, MO to Elmer and Lillian (Dykhouse) Bowling and was a lifelong area resident graduating from Levasy High School. He had worked as a foreman for Allis Chalmers Manufacturing in Independence for 31 years until he retired in 1982. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Buckner, MO. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was married to Ruth Compton on July 28, 1951, she survives of the home. Other survivors include; 2 sons, Barry Bowling and his wife Lorie of Independence, MO and Michael Bowling and his wife Cheryl of Napoleon, MO; a daughter, Rene’ Kellough and her husband Kirk of Buckner, MO; 2 sisters, Naomi Williams of Blue Springs, MO and Syble Milligan of Independence, MO; 9 grandchildren, Nikki, Ashley, Elizabeth, Erick, Avery, Laura, Jacob, Timothy and Zac and 1 great grandchild, Cadence. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Elmer, Delmer, Ralph and Harold.
