Herbert L. Bowling, Jr., 94 of Sibley, MO passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Blue Hills Rest Home. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Six Mile Baptist Church with burial to follow in Six Mile Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m., until service time Saturday at the church. Donations may be made to the Six Mile Cemetery Association. Herbert was born March 9, 1918 in Levasy, MO to Herbert L. and Tina (Huntsucker) Bowling, Sr. and has been a lifelong area resident. He was a farmer most of his life. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII from 1941-45. He was a member of the Six Mile Baptist Church and the NRA. He enjoyed listening to music, hunting mushrooms and was an avid outdoorsman. He is survived by: a daughter, Janet Thompson and husband Mike of Sibley, MO; 2 sons, Herbert L. Bowling, III and his wife Linda and Mark Bowling and wife Stacy all of Sibley, MO; 2 sisters, Marjorie Perrin of Buckner, MO and Dorothy Winfrey of Sibley, MO; 9 grandchildren, Jennifer Wintz, Sarah Parsons, Kara Thompson, Nathan Bowling, LeAnn Friel, Bret Cooper, Teri Ann Cooper, Joy Bradley and Chris Swearingen and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Ethel Marie in 1989 and a brother Roger.
