Ruth Bowling

Ruth V. Bowling, 88, of Buckner, MO, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO.
Ruth Virginia Bowling was born on April 10, 1934, to Dee and Maggie Compton in Birch Tree, Missouri. Ruth grew up in Buckner, MO where she graduated from Buckner High School. Following high school, she began working at Hallmark. Ruth married the love of her life Arlest Bowling on July 28, 1951 at First Baptist Church in Buckner. She ran the Buckner Skating Rink before starting her own business. Ruth owned Stitch Niche and later owned the Buckner Bouquet Floral.
Ruth will be remembered for her love of church and God as well the love of her family. She loved gardening and was known for her beautiful flower gardens.
Ruth is survived by three children, Rene (Kirk) Kellough, Michael (Cheryl) Bowling, Barry (Lorie) Bowling; nine grandchildren, Nikki (Tanner) Garber, Ashley (Jason) Bell, Avery (Cam) Pack, Timmy Bowling, Laura Bowling, Jacob Bowling, Elizabeth Meany, Eric (Johna) Meany, Zachary Meany; great grandchildren, Lucas Bell, Eloise Pack, Stella Garber, Olive Garber, Cadence Meany, Makenna Meany and Calvin Meany and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Arlest; parents and three siblings, Frances Mann, Alice Brown and Mary Ann Compton.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at First Baptist Church, 131 S. Hudson, Buckner, MO, 64016, 816-650-5632. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the church with burial to follow at Buckner Hill Cemetery, Buckner, MO.
