Marilyn Elaine Boyer, 72, of Independence, MO, passed away, Wednesday, February 10, 2010. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 15, 2010 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington, Independence, MO 64052. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday evening at the chapel with Women of the Moose Lodge #1092 ritual to proceed. Donations may be made in her name to the Women of the Moose Lodge #1092 or to the organization of the donor’s choice. Marilyn was born July 23, 1937 in Princeton, MO to John Dillon and Christena Merrill (Renfro) Jobe. She grew up in Princeton and graduated from Princeton High School. She worked for Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, MO for 35 years retiring as a file clerk in February 1994. She enjoyed yard work, woodcutting and shopping. She was a member of Women of the Moose Lodge #1092. She was married to Lloyd on April 26, 1975, he survives of the home. Other survivors include; 5 children, Kayla Caddenhead and her husband Allen of Independence, MO, Regina Uptegrove and her husband Mike of Blue Springs, MO, Kristy George, Shelia Tarpenning and husband Mike and Kevin Boyer and his wife Millie all of Independence, MO; a brother, Billy John Jobe and his wife Rita of Oklahoma City, OK; 2 sisters, Anna Lea Bartlett of Parwan, UT and Betty Hollopeter of Independence, MO; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Norma Jean “Bobbie” Mastin in 1994.
