Irvin Lee Bradley, 72, Independence, MO passed away Monday, September 12, 2011 at Hidden Lake Care Center.
A celebration of Irvin’s life will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2011 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St. Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Parkinson’s Foundation or Sterling Acres Baptist Church.
Irvin was born November 30, 1938 in Windsor, MO, the son of John and Opal (Wilson) Bradley. Irvin was a farmer while in Windsor before moving to the Kansas City area with his wife in 1958. He worked as a commercial insurance underwriter for various insurance companies before retirement. Irvin had attended Waldo Ave Baptist Church, Bethel Baptist Church and recently Sterling Acres Baptist Church, where he had served as Sunday school teacher, deacon and church treasurer. He was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Paul; brother, James Bradley and his parents.
Survivors include his loving wife Mary M. Bradley of 53 years; daughter, Susan Bradley of Independence, son, Dennis Bradley and wife Darlene of Cape Girardeau, daughter, Sarah Durgan and husband David of Independence, and Sally Gibson and husband Don of Independence; five grandchildren, Brian, Daniel, Dayna, Allison, and Andrew; brother, Newton Bradley and numerous nieces, nephew, and family.
