Braedon Caldwell Nichols

Apr 16, 2006 — Jun 17, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Braedon Caldwell Nichols on June 17, 2026, at the age of 20.

Born on April 16, 2006, Braedon brought joy, compassion, and energy to the lives of everyone who knew him. He graduated from Park Hill High School in 2024, where he excelled both academically and athletically. A passionate athlete, Braedon especially loved soccer and dedicated countless hours to the sport he cherished. He proudly played for both his high school and club teams, forming lasting friendships and creating memories that will be treasured forever.

Beyond his athletic accomplishments, Braedon will be remembered most for his caring heart, genuine empathy, and unforgettable sense of humor. He had a remarkable ability to recognize when someone needed encouragement, support, or simply a friend. At the same time, he brought laughter wherever he went. There are countless videos and memories that capture Braedon's unique silliness, playful spirit, and gift for making others smile. He was never afraid to be himself, and his authenticity, humor, and joyful energy left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His kindness, compassion, and willingness to help others touched family, friends, teammates, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

For the past two years, Braedon resided in San Jose, California, where he was fervently working to improve his health and well being.

Braedon is survived by his loving mother, Kelly; his father, Greg; and his sisters, Natalie and Kathryn. He is also survived by his aunt, Robin Buttress, and her husband, Babe, along with their children, Kayci and Abbey; and by his uncle, John Neidig, and his wife, Lorri, along with their children, Emma and Benjamin.

He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Amanda, who passed away in 2017. Though separated by years, we take comfort in imagining their joyful reunion. He was also preceded by his grandparents, John and Janice Neidig; and Mark and Mary Nichols. Though Braedon's time with us was far too short, the love he shared and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Avenue, Independence, Missouri 64052. Funeral services will follow from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Braedon will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
