Adeline F. Braley, 95 of Independence, MO passed away at 1:45 pm, Sep. 4, 2007 at the Fountains of Greenbrier in Independence. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Mon. Sep. 10, 2007 at the Carson- Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Indep. MO with the visitation being held one hour prior to the service. Following cremation, burial will be in Marshall, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution to the First United Methodist Church, 400 W. Maple, Indep. MO 64050. Adeline was born Oct. 7, 1911 in Fort Scott, KS to Louis Osco Williams and Bessie Ellen (Flint) Williams, moving to Marshall, MO at the age of 1. She was there married in 1932 and had two children. She and her family moved to Independence in 1941. Adeline retired after employment with Freeman Insurance Agency of Independence for 22 years and Hagerty, Rose and McPherron Insurance Agency of Kansas City for 12 years. Mrs. Braley was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Independence since 1945, serving the Anavan class, Lydia Circle, United Methodist Women, as Administrative Board Secretary and as office volunteer. As a member of the Hawthorne Chapter of the American Business Women, she achieved 12 years of perfect attendance and was honored as the 1974 Woman of the Year. She was a past member of the Knife and Fork Club. Adeline was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence Hudson Braley, Son Louis Hudson Braley and brother Milan Williams. She is survived by her daughter Donna Valeen Pope and husband Jim of Danville, CA. stepdaughter Patt Braley of Independence, grandson L. Scott Braley and wife Molly of Independence, grandson Colin E. Braley and wife Beth of Ogden UT, one great-granddaughter, Adeline Rose Braley of Independence, MO. Five step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
