Twylia Gail Brand (O'Dell)

Twylia Gail O’Dell Brand, 90 of Blue Springs, formerly of Independence died on February 4, 2023, at her home. A graveside service will be held at 10 am Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Twylia was born in Atherton, Missouri, the only child of Clyde and Minnie O’Dell on December 1, 1932. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Colonial Dames and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She volunteered at the Jackson County Historical Society office in Sugar Creek, Missouri for many years. She had three publications to her name: Jackson County, Mo., Deeds, Volumes I, II, and III. She was working on a book about Atherton, Missouri and the families who lived there in the 1930s and 1940s at the time of her death. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 49 years, Wilmer Gordon Brand, and one great-granddaughter. She is survived by her three children, five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
