Brandon Kent Lauer passed away unexpectedly on March 2, 2026, at the age of 31. Born on January 23, 1995, in Blue Springs, Missouri, Brandon left a lasting impression on the lives he touched through his kind-hearted nature and infectious smile.
Brandon's culinary journey flourished as he worked as a chef at Jack Stack Barbecue for the past decade. His passion for cooking was reflected not only in his professional life but also in his personal endeavors, as he enjoyed gardening and growing his own food. Cooking was more than just a job for Brandon; it was a way to bring people together and share joy with friends and family. A proud graduate of Lee's Summit North High School, Brandon embraced life with enthusiasm. He had a vibrant personality that made him loved amongst his peers, both at work and in his social circles. Fondly known as "Scrappy," he was always ready to lend a helping hand and support a friend or coworker in need.
Brandon had a deep love for baseball, having a special bond with his father, who coached him from the age of five through his teenage years. The many days and evenings spent playing on the field created lasting memories for both him and his family. His adventurous spirit led him to enjoy hiking and traveling, especially on spontaneous trips with friends. Brandon particularly enjoyed places with water, where he found peace and tranquility in nature. As we reflect on his life, we find comfort in knowing that his spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Brandon is survived by his father and step-mother, Gerald “Kent” and Shelly Lauer; brother, Nick Lauer; step-brother, Jared Odom; grandmother, Annetta Lauer; grandparents, Bernice and Joe Carter; aunt, Heather Lauer (Bill Cronkhit); uncle, Mark Carter (Candace); niece, Kiera Odom and his favorite furry companions, Toki and Asia.
He is preceded in death by his grandpa, Don Lauer.
