Ida Anna Bredehoft, 93, formerly of Independence, MO peacefully passed away Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Wilshire at Lakewood. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2008 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 17200 E. 39th St. Independence, MO 64055. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 28, 2008 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Concordia, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace Hospice or the Precious Lambs Learning Center c/o St. Paul’s Lutheran church. Ida was born February 22, 1915 in Concordia, MO to Claus and Paulina (Scharnhorst) Brandt. She was an active member of the church participating in Anna Circle. Mrs. Bredehoft enjoyed cooking, baking and making various crafts in her spare time. Her life was centered around the care of her family and those in need. Ida is survived by her husband of 68 years, Melvin Bredehoft; daughter Shirley Setley and husband Tom; son Roger Bredehoft and wife Elaine; grandchildren Monica and Terry Yokeley, Susan and Andy Olmer, Anne and Erik Grissell, and Michael Bredehoft; great-grandchildren Matthew, Kalynn, Tylor; great-great-grandson Matthew Nicholas; brother Julius Brandt. She was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.
