Edwin R. Breese, 87, Independence, MO went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 7, 2009.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, April 10, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Tri-City Baptist Church Missions Fund.
Edwin was born May 5, 1921 in Albia, IA the son of Jacob and Maude (Burge) Breese. As a head baker he had been employed with the Bon Ton Bakery in Oskaloosa, IA and later retired with Business Men’s Assurance Company as a Baker. Edwin was a member of the Tri City Baptist Church since 1975 and served as an usher and greeter with the church. He enjoyed gardening, home repair and baking and designing cakes for family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Marie of 63 years; children, Rosie Clausen and her husband Ken of Central City, NE; Nancy Breese of Lincoln, NE; and Jerry Breese and his wife Karen of Gladstone. 4 grandchildren, Jana Meyer and her husband Dustin, John, Susan and Matthew Breese and one great granddaughter Elysia Meyer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 sisters.
