Dale Brickner, 88, Independence, MO passed away November 2, 2011.
Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2011 at East Independence Community of Christ Church, 823 S. Elizabeth St, Independence, MO 64056. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Monday at the church.
Dale was born on May 21, 1923 to Ralph and Mary (Buske) Brickner. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, having served in the Pacific Theater, where he received the Silver Star. Dale was employed with KCP&L as a mechanic and later taught training for KCP&L at Penn Oaks. He was a member of the East Independence Community of Christ where he served as an Elder. Dale loved spending time with his family and going on camping trips. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Dale is survived by his loving wife, Wanda of 58 years; daughters Wendy Sage, Julie Walkup and husband John, and Debbie Schieszer and husband Mark; grandchildren, Shannon and husband Josh, Philip and wife Kellie, Courtney, Cork, and Ian; nine great grandchildren; brothers, Joe and Wayne Brickner and numerous nieces and nephews.
