Roland Briggs

Roland “Ron” Kelley Briggs, 89, Lamoni, IA died Aug. 13, 2008 in Independence, MO. Memorial services will be 10 am, Friday, Aug. 22, 2008 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; cremation. A committal service will follow at 3:30 pm, Friday at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Lamoni. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dorothy Briggs Sandage Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Graceland University or The Rose Hill Cemetery Assoc., Lamoni, IA 50140.
Ron earned an Associate of Arts from Graceland College and a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the University of Iowa. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II. He was a member of the Community of Christ Stone Church, and attended Heritage House and The Groves.
Ron is survived by his wife Adeline Harris Briggs, Independence, MO; sister Margaret Baker; children William Briggs; Ronald Briggs; Sally Poindexter; stepdaughters Sandra Gustafson; Ruth Siegfried; Judith Siegfried; Marjorie Foster; and thirteen grandchildren. His parents and six siblings preceded him in death.
