Gertrude Brooks, 99, Independence, MO, passed away Monday, February 18, 2013.
Gertrude was born October 15, 1913 in Sherbrook, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Lorenzo and Delimma (Tougas) Brassard. She retired from Old Sturbridge Village, in Sturbridge, MA as a restoration technician for old books. Gertrude enjoyed playing bridge and bingo.
Survivors include her daughters, Jean Miller and husband Robert of Pleasant Hill, Marilyn Sandow and her husband John Victor of Mystic, CN; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Anderson in 1986, her second husband, Ellsworth Brooks in 2010, and her daughter, Judith Treschitta.
Memorial services will be at a later date in Maine. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Autism Society of America Foundation.
