Effie Mae Brown, 87 Independence, MO passed away Friday, March 09, 2012.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2012 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO 64052. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Mound Grove Cemetery.
Effie was born May 19, 1924 in Arkansas the daughter of Lawson Benton and Nora (Cisco) Smith. She was employed with the Independence Sanitarium and retired from the Independence Health Department as a visiting home nurse. Effie was a member of the RLDS Congregation. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family.
Effie was preceded in death by her husband, Weaver Brown in 1998; son, Darrell Brown; daughter in law, Earlene Brown and her parents.
Survivors include her sons, Paul Brown and wife Linda; Kenneth Brown and wife Linda; and Roger Brown and wife Cheryl; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; three great great granddaughter; one sister; one brother; and numerous nieces, nephews and family.
