George Brown

George Lewis Brown, 59, passed away on June 9, 2015.

A visitation will be held at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO on Friday, June 19, from 6-8:00pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 20, at 10:00am, at the chapel. George will be laid to rest in Mt. Washington Cemetery.

He was born on May 22, 1956, in Kansas City, MO, to Clayton and Thelma Jean (Antonio) Brown. He was a colorful, creative, and talented entrepreneur, operating in ceramics, Angel’s Cove Fish Store, and airbrushing ventures during his years. He was also a longtime member of Norfleet Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors, especially trips to the lake to go fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandbabies.

George was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Henry “Buddy” Brown.

He is survived by his former wife and best friend, Helen “Katherine” Brown; children: Joshua James Clayton Brown (wife, Audrey), Courtney Brianna Brown (partner, Noel Yanez), and George Quentin Tyler Brown; brothers, Clayton Robert Brown and Allen Brown; grandchildren, Phoebe Riley Diane Brown and Lexi Marie Jean Brown; and two beloved cats, Tom and Boo.
