William Manford Buck

William Manford Buck, 89, of Independence, MO passed away Friday, February 20, 2003 at his home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 25, at the George C. Carson and Son�s Funeral Home, with the burial at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. The visitation will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the chapel, with a Masonic Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. William was born on September 4, 1914 in Kansas City, MO to Archie and Grace Buck. He retired from Armco Steel where he had worked from 1945 to 1976. William was a member of the Carlisle Baptist Church as well as a member of the Masonic Lodge of Buckner. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ruth Buck; three daughters, Grace LaVerne and Leon Davis, Independence, MO, Marie Elaine and Gary Sneed, Grain Valley, MO and Mary Ruth and Gene Trayford, Grain Valley, MO; one sister, Evelyn Smith, Independence, MO; one brother, John Stephen, Sugar Creek, MO; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
