Kelly Raymond Bunn

Kelly Raymond Bunn, 59, of Independence, MO died unexpectedly of heart failure on March 20, 2015 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Kelly was born on August 18, 1955 in Wichita, KS to Verne and Bernice Bunn. He graduated Shawnee Mission West High School in 1973 and was an Eagle Scout and earned the God and Country Award. He attended the University of Kansas and graduated with a BS in Economics in 1977. He was employed at the Social Security Administration for thirty-three years and mentored many employees and retired in early January 2015. He is survived by his wife Lois, his step-daughter Tricia Griffey, and his brothers Bill and Stewart Bunn of Overland Park and Bill’s wife Cheryl. He was preceded in death by his parents. Kelly married Lois Marie Kinnett on August 21, 1979. They enjoyed European traveling and had many more trips planned. Kelly was an accomplished amateur musician. He and Lois enjoyed long walks with their standard white poodles, Sylvia and Darcy. Kelly was at his most contented when he was out in nature. He was a joyous person with a penchant for making comic comments. Kelly and Lois attended Unity Village for decades and his beautiful soul will be deeply missed. Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the World Wildlife Fund or Wayside Waifs. There will be a private service and interment.
