Stewart "Cass" Burrow

Stewart Stratton “Cass” Burrow, 95, Independence, MO passed away Monday, November 29, 2010 at his home.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Cass was born May 14, 1915 in Chalk Level, MO the son of Lewis A. and Mary (Williams) Burrow. He retired from Armco Steel in 1978. Cass was a member of the former Waldo Avenue Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, was an avid KC Royals fan and especially loved being with family.

Cass was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Burrow; daughter Linda Hensley and son in law, Austin Hensley, 13 brothers and sisters and his parents.

Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Doris Burrow; six children, son, Dennis Burrow and his wife Jennie, daughter, Paula Alwin and her husband Larry, son, Richard Burrow, daughter, Liz Byrne and her husband Mike, son, Stephen Burrow, daughter Connie Linson and her husband Stephen; two grandsons; five granddaughters; 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
