Lois Lorene Burton (Stephens)

Lois L. Burton, 89, of Blue Springs, Mo passed away June 2, 2015. Visitation will be from 6-7 pm Mon, June 8, 2015 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. A Memorial Service will follow at 7pm at the chapel. Lois was born 1 of 12 children in Snyder, MO to Oren and Meredith (Bryant) Stephens. Lois was a very sweet, kind, and classy lady, however she could be very strong when needed. Despite many years of struggles with health issues in her life, Lois never complained and never gave up. She embellished everything and everyone that she touched. She enjoyed fishing at the lake, bowling, baking cookies, and taking care of her family. Lois is survived by; daughters Rita Porter (Jerry Lierly) and Cindy Stevens (Harry); granddaughters, Tammy Porter and Callie Zevecke; brothers Larry Stephens (Mary Lois) and Robert Elihu Stephens (Kay); sisters JoAnn Ridder (Arnold), Bettie Mayfield, and Frances Burkhardt. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Albert Kenneth Burton in 2014; son Danny Burton in 1969; 2 sisters, and 4 brothers.
