Margaret Mae Butcher, 91, of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Monterey Park Care Center. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be 10-11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Northern Boulevard United Methodist Church. Margaret was born July 8, 1918 in Independence, MO to James and Kathryn (Cox) Grove. She was an active and faithful member of the church where she was in the Co-Builders class and in the UMW. Mrs. Butcher retired after 31 dedicated years from the Bank of Independence as Assistant Vice President. Margaret loved to cook and entertain, always hosting the holiday gatherings. Mrs. Butcher is survived by her brother Jim Grove; sisters-in-law Shirley Marsh; Margie Carlock; and by a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Jack Butcher in January, 1998. Margaret will be missed and forever loved by all.
