Elizabeth Ann (Raveill) Butler, 95 of Independence, MO passed away, Thursday, June 16, 2011 at her residence. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 20, 2011 at the Mound Grove Cemetery. Donations may be made in her name to the American Red Cross for the Joplin Relief Effort. Elizabeth was born January 27, 1916 in Warrensburg, MO to John Freeman and Mabel Pearl (Wilcox) Raveill and was a long time resident of Independence attending William Chrisman High School. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who enjoyed embroidery and stitching. She had worked as a clerk at the RLDS Auditorium. She was a member of the Independence Chapter of the NSDAR and attended the Parkview and East Alton congregations of the Community of Christ. She was married to Henry Butler, Sr. on March 4, 1934 until he preceded her in death in June 1987. Survivors include; 2 daughters, Sue Engelman and husband James of Independence, MO; and June Lousteau and husband Rodney of Windsor, CT; a sister, Alice Plain of Independence, MO; 11 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
