Orville Raymond Butler, 95 of Liberty, MO passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Liberty Hospital. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 27, 2011 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Burial with full military honors will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Thursday at the chapel. Donations may be made in his name to Alzheimer’s Association, 3846 W. 75th Street Prairie Village, KS 66208. Orville was born June 2, 1915 in Oplis, KS to William F. and Flora Mae Butler. He had worked for as a stockman and receiving clerk on the docks of Ford Motor Company from 1935 until he retired in 1972. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was a member of the UAW Local #249 in Kansas City, MO. He was also a member of the Liberty Street Community of Christ, where he served as priest. Orville proudly served in the US Navy during WWII aboard the USS Missouri. He married Ethel Marie Srader and they enjoyed 67 years of marriage until she passed away in February of 2002. He is survived by his children, Esther Marie Alley and her husband Milton of Excelsior Springs, MO, Frances Robinette of Clarinda, IA, David R. Butler and his wife Mary of Holden, MO, Paul Butler and his wife Susan of Liberty, MO and Mark Butler and his wife Sheila of Kansas City, MO; a sister, Norma Hutchens of Independence, MO; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Clarence and William, 4 sisters, Olivine, Bertha, Gladys and Fern, a grandson, Jeff Robinette and a great granddaughter, Chrissie Lee Adair.
