Marlene Butner

Marlene A. Butner, 80, of Independence, MO passed March 2, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., followed by a visitation from 7-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Marlene was born October 1, 1932 in Kansas City, MO to Victor and Ann Sedlock. She worked for many years at Montgomery Wards, until her retirement. She was a longtime member of Nativity of Mary Catholic Church. Marlene was a strong, independent, beautiful woman who was the backbone of her family, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Butner in 2006. She is survived by her six children, Karen Christian, Charles Butner Jr., Marlene Irwin, Kathy Moore, Victor Butner and Michael Butner; one brother, Richard Sedlock; and many grandchildren.
