Michael Butts Sr

Michael Steven Butts, Sr. 51 of Independence, MO passed away, Saturday morning at North Kansas City Hospital. A celebration of Michael’s life will be held from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at the Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Avenue, Independence, MO 64052 with cremation to follow. Mike was born April 9, 1959 in Independence, MO to John D. and Renee (Ungerer) Butts, Jr. and has been a lifelong Independence resident. He had worked for Gold Foundry and Machine Works for 27 years before they closed. He then worked for Clay & Bailey Manufacturing until his passing. He enjoyed fishing, gambling and boating. He is survived by; his mother, Renee Butts; two sisters, Martha Russell and Mary Fetters; three brothers, Raymond, Daniel and George; three children, Michael S. Butts, Jr., of Iowa, Jennifer and Patrick Butts of Independence, MO, six grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and many close friends. His father, John D. Butts, Jr. and older brother, John D. Butts III, preceded him in death. May he rest in peace.
