Warner “Linn” Byram, 93, of Independence, MO, passed away, Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Country Oaks Village in Grain Valley, MO. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 23, 2009 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday at the Melbourne Cemetery in Melbourne, AR. The family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m., until service time Thursday at the chapel. Linn was born November 25, 1915 in Salem, AR to John Thomas and Elsie (Gentry) Byram. He grew up in Arkansas and graduated from Melbourne High School in 1933. He lived and worked in many areas of the United States before moving to the Kansas City area and worked for a number of years in the warehouse for Dunlap Tires until his retirement in 1975. Linn was a friendly good-natured man who enjoyed a good joke. He also enjoyed traveling, and for many years he started every day by walking at the Blue Ridge Mall. Linn was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. He was married to Oneta (Johnson) and were married for over 30 years before she passed away. He later married Velma Anderson in June 1980; she survives of the home. Other survivors include; a daughter from his first wife, Vickie Marshall and her husband Raymond of Gladstone, MO; a sister, Mary Majors of Blue Springs, MO; a brother, Lester Byram and his wife Lyndal of Kingman, AZ; 2 step sons, Edward W. Anderson and his wife Shirley of Independence, MO and Norman D. Anderson and his wife Linda of Blue Springs, MO; a step daughter, Janice J. Neidig and her husband John of Oak Grove, MO; 6 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Neil and Conrad.
