Harold W. Cackler, 95, of Independence, MO peacefully passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at Rosewood Health Center. Services will be 1:30 p.m. at The Groves Community Room on Saturday, February 23, 2008. The family will greet friends from 1-1:30 prior to the service. Burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Community of Christ Historic Sites Foundation (RTF), 1001 W. Walnut, Independence, MO 64050. Harold was born September 30, 1912 in Lucas Co., IA to Jacob Clark and Catherine Ann (Thomas) Cackler. He worked in Des Moines, IA for Ford Motor Co. and Gibbs Cook Tractor Co. before moving to Missouri. Mr. Cackler was a pastor in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Community of Christ) before serving as Bishop of the Center Stake and as a member of the Presiding Bishopric of the World Church. His life was dedicated to serving the Lord and the mission of the church. Harold is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Arline Fae (Fowler) Cackler; grandchildren Abrielle Cackler Gensler and husband Travis, Brady W. Cackler, Bryce H. Veazey; daughter-in-law Cathleen Cackler-Veazey and Stephen M. Veazey; by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Cackler was preceded in death by his son John W. Cackler; and by two brothers and three sisters.
