Eugene Calvert

Eugene Calvert, 88, of Independence, MO passed away November 16, 2010 at Centerpoint Medical Center. He was born April 1, 1922 in Kansas City, MO to Albert and Gladys Calvert. He honorably served in the U.S. Army through WWII and Korea. Eugene worked for 30 years as a district production manager for R.L. Polk and Company in the City Directory Division. He has lived in Independence, MO since 1953, and was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church of Independence. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Bonnie (McComb) Calvert, originally of Perry, IA; his parents, Albert and Gladys Calvert; three brothers and a sister. He is survived by one son, John Calvert and wife Kristin; two grandsons, Jack and Matthew Calvert; and one niece; and one nephew. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 19, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. A graveside service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, at Rippey Cemetery, Rippey, Iowa.
