Ione Campbell, 94, Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013.
Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. 64055. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be private at Mound Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to South Crysler Community of Christ.
Ione was born October 7, 1918 in Lapeer County, MI, the daughter of Orvil A. and Anna M. (Shay) Clarkson. She was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving as a WAC in WWII. Ione graduated from Graceland College. She moved to the Independence area with her husband in 1950. Ione worked as a secretary with Butler Manufacturing and later at Montgomery Wards Company. She was a member of South Crysler Community of Christ. Ione found great pleasure in helping others and she enjoyed sewing, gardening, crafts, and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her daughters, Jane A. Campbell, Lori C. LeVine and husband Steven; grandchildren, Jennifer, Bethany, and Zachary Schroer, and Nicholas LeVine; and many nieces, nephews, and loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Campbell in 2006; three brothers; five sisters; and her parents.
