Opal Bell Cantwell, 93, Odessa, MO passed away on October 2, 2005 at her residence. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. The service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, at the chapel, burial at Floral Hills East Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the John Knox Village Hospice. Opal was born on September 7, 1912 in Eugene, MO to Ira and Susan Albertson. She lived in Independence for 40 years, until one year ago when she moved with her husband to Odessa, MO. She was preceded in death by her son, William James Cantwell; two brothers, Lee Albertson and James Albertson; sister, Olive Anderson; and grandson, James Leo Cantwell. Opal is survived by her husband of 72 years, Brandt L. Cantwell; daughter-in-law, Mary Kaye Cantwell; three sisters, Aurella Dobson, Idella Glenn and Vivian P. Dawson; three grandchildren, Teresa S. Coffey, William M. Cantwell and Tamera K. Schallenberg; and three great grandchildren, Joey Coffey and Alyssa and Sidney Schallenberg.
