Joyce Elaine Capps (Craven)

Joyce Capps, 62, of Independence, MO, passed away Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015. Memorial visitation will be from 1-3 pm Friday, August 14, 2015 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. A Memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm at the chapel. Joyce was born on August 16, 1952 in Independence, MO, the daughter of Gerald and Alberta (Aldridge) Craven. She attended William Chrisman High School. Joyce retired as an administration assistant from the USDA. In her spare time, Joyce loved to travel-she traveled to Israel and was baptized in the Jordan River, she was a person of strong faith, as well as fishing and boating. Joyce loved horses and dogs. She enjoyed sports especially tennis and baseball. Joyce enjoyed music of all kinds, favoring jazz. But most of all, Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include; Daughter Dana McCartney-Candillo and husband Rocky; father Gerald Craven; 4 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. Joyce is preceded in death by her mother, Alberta Craven. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Hospice House.
