Connie Carney

Connie D. Carney, of Independence, MO passed away Monday, January 30, 2012, in her own home. Memorial services for Mrs. Carney will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 3, at Christ United Methodist Church; 14506 E. 39th St. S., Independence, MO 64055. Family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church. Following, will be an inurnment at Longview Memorial Gardens.

Connie was born March 5, 1948 in Moberly, MO to parents James and Anna (Vallee) Mason. She enjoyed quilting and was an avid KC Chiefs and Missouri Tiger fan along with her husband, Leo “Dick” Carney. Most of all, Connie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Connie is survived by son, Shane Carney and his wife, Kathy of Lee’s Summit, MO; daughter Lea Hilke and her husband Mark of Shorewood, IL; sister Gayle Gillispie of North Kansas City, MO; sister Roxann Carver of Lee’s Summit, MO; and two grandchildren Sam and Tom Hilke of Shorewood, IL. She was preceded in death by her wonderful husband Dick Carney, and brothers Gary and Jay Mason.
