Carol Jean Anderson, née Howell, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026, in Blue Springs, Missouri. Born on April 14, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri, Carol’s life was marked by a radiant spirit that touched everyone who knew her.
For more than 45 years, Carol dedicated herself to her career in the finance department at Hallmark, where her meticulous work ethic and steady presence earned her not only respect but the admiration of colleagues. Yet, beyond her professional achievements, Carol was best known for her zest for life and the joy she found in simple, delightful moments.
Carol loved having fun — a phrase that beautifully encapsulates the essence of her personality. Whether she was engaged in spirited games of cards with family and friends or piecing together intricate jigsaw puzzles, she brought laughter and warmth to every gathering. Her fondness for boating and spending time at the lake revealed her appreciation for nature’s tranquility and the cherished moments spent on the water, surrounded by loved ones. Carol also loved listening to her favorite tunes by Elvis Presley.
She treasured her girls’ trips with her closest friends, forging bonds that lasted a lifetime over shared experiences and heartfelt conversations. Watching classic television shows such as Perry Mason, Emergency!, Adam-12, The Wheel of Fortune, and The Price Is Right was yet another of Carol’s beloved pastimes, providing entertainment and comfort in her daily routine.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Anderson; her son, Buddy Anderson; her parents, Alvin Junior and Chloy V.. Howell; and her siblings, Connie Crane, Pamela Sarno, and Alvin Howell. Their memories live on in her heart and the hearts of those who mourn her loss.
She is survived by her niece, Tammy Crane and her daughter in law, Billie Anderson.
Carol Jean Anderson’s life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and dedication. Though she has left this world, the echoes of her laughter and the warmth of her presence will continue to brighten the lives of all who knew her.
