Carol Ann Garrett, 78 of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 29, 2025 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel with burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m., until service time Monday at the chapel. Donations may be made in her name to St. Luke’s Home Care & Hospice. Carol was born on May 10, 1947 in Jefferson City, MO to Roy Edward and Maxine (Irma) Crosby Miles and spent most of her life in the Independence area, graduating from Truman High School in 1965. She had worked as a cashier for several local grocery stores throughout her life. Carol loved to read and she was very artistic and crafty and would often make things to sale in local craft fairs. She enjoyed spending time at their lake home and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the Waldo Avenue Baptist Church. She is survived by; her husband of 61 years, Kenny of the home; a daughter, Melissa Davis and husband John of Lee’s Summit, MO; 3 grandchildren, Brandon Garrett and wife Christa, Joey Garrett and wife Jenell and Loralee Davis; 3 great grandchildren, Simon, Henry and Journey and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle in 2003 and 4 siblings, Larry Miles, Roger Miles, Norma Dumas and Sharon Wray.
